We all deal with it! Something about that stretch from January to April where there isn’t any holiday to look forward to and it’s just cold and often dreary outside.

There is multiple reasons on why this happens. Here are the main ones: 👇
We don’t get outside as much, and trapping ourselves in stuffy rooms all the time with artificial lighting is not good for our brain or body
We lack enough sunlight and vitamin D
Our circadian rhythm usually get thrown off because of lack of sunlight
Our serotonin levels also decrease as a lack of sunlight
Our melatonin levels decrease
Now there is a common theme behind all of these, we are not getting outside enough and not getting enough sun! ☀️ 🌞
If you trapped a dog in a dark box for weeks and months on end, would you expect the dog to be happy?
Hell no! So why do you expect the same from yourself?
Our bodies are designed to be outside, to be in the sun, and to be active. But because it is cold and often cloudy, we limit our time doing this in the winter.
So how can we attack the seasonal depression this year? 👇👇👇
Force yourself to get out in the cold, be outside and in the sun for at least an hour (also try light therapy)
Supplement with vitamin D
Supplement with magnesium at night
Make sure your circadian rhythm (sleep schedule) stays on points
Make ample time to hangout with friends every week
Keep diet on point
Stay more active than usual
