Parker’s Breakdown: Eating Organic
I eat organic and I started just out of pure curiosity.
Will I actually notice a difference? Will I, in my day to day, feel better? Or is this all just a marketing fad?
After eating pretty consistently organically for over two years now, I can say it makes quite the difference!
I’ve noticed when I am consistent with eating organic, my energy is through the roof, I feel happier, I don’t feel bloated, and I have felt better in my lifts and in cardio.
So what’s the science behind all this?
To start off, when you eat organic, you are dodging all the crap in today’s processed foods. Items that are common in foods would be sucralose - linked to leukemia, gut microbiome disruption, liver inflammation, and Crohn’s disease. Vegetable oils such as sunflower oil and soybean oil - linked to heart disease, cancer and hormone disruption (an absolute testosterone killer!). Lastly, Monosodium Glutamate aka MSG - linked to obesity, DNA damage, ovarian degeneration, and hormone disruption.
These are only three chemicals that are commonly found in our foods of today, and most of our foods contain over 50+ chemicals. So if we eat organic, it is still not perfect, but we are eliminating 95% of these harmful chemicals.
Also, organic foods are proven to be far more nutrient dense than processed foods. Eating these more nutrient dense foods are what help achieve these great energy levels and can fix a majority of our problems since most people are heavily nutrient deficient. When you eat organic you can ditch the multi vitamins and supplements because we are getting are vitamins through our diet. This is the optimal way to get our nutrients because in foods, nutrients are more bioavailable, meaning our bodies absorb more nutrients than through a vitamin supplementation.
So how can you start eating more organic? Well, it doesn’t have to be expensive like everyone believes. I have eaten organic cheaply if you just choose the right items. Places I would start are with grass fed beef, pasture raised eggs, organic blueberries, sweet potatoes, and greek yogurt. I only ate these foods for months and it actually cost me less than my old grocery orders filled with poor quality protein bars and powders, and crappy pesticide filled fruits and meats.
I can understand that people can be skeptical about how much eating organic actually does. All I have to say is try it for a month and see the benefits for yourself!
