I take my mental health and mood extremely serious and you should too!

Itā€™s too easy to just blame a bad mood on something external or something out of our control like ā€œItā€™s just in our genesā€. I refuse to believe that is possible, and I believe our mental health and mood is 100% completely in our control.

I stick to a couple principles in my day to ensure Iā€™m in control

First, I make sure my sleep is on point. Now Iā€™ve already made an article about the importance of sleep and how to improve it so go check that out! šŸ’¤ 

Second, I make sure Iā€™m outside. I know this sounds silly that nature can completely change poor mood but it really can. Getting outside, walking a little bit can completely flip your mood in a 180 for the better and can really help you see clearly. In the winter, I force myself to get out in the cold for at least a total of 2 hours in a day. When itā€™s summertime and itā€™s enjoyable to be outside there is no telling how long I will be out for but itā€™s definitely 3+ hours. ā˜€ļø

Next, quality food. Iā€™ve never experienced such a change in bloating, energy levels, motivation, brain clarity, or overall mood then when I switched to a whole food diet. My bloating went away, my energy skyrocketed, I was thinking more clearly and my mood was much better. I recommend a whole food or paleo diet or animal based diet! šŸ„©

Fourth, the importance of quality friendships. Give me a man that has everything on point except good friends and I guarantee he will not be fulfilled in life. I made an article about this called ā€œThe Power Of Friendsā€ and I highly recommend you check it out! šŸ‘„

Lastly, is practicing gratitude. Why would you expect to get the things you want when you canā€™t appreciate the things you have now? Most of us have a roof over our heads, food and water, a family member that loves us to death, and a good friend. What more do you need? This is a muscle that takes a lot of practice to grow, but if you can get to the point where you see the beauty in the world and all the things you already have everyday, your happiness will be endless! šŸ™

If you have these five items, you will have an extremely happy life. Sure you can have money, fame, attention and other things that can bring joy, but I believe these five are the fundamentals!
