Did you know the dangers of drinking tap water?
I remember as a kid just drinking straight out of a faucet everyday. But little did I know I was loading my developing body with metals and ‘forever chemicals’ that were terrible!
Here is a few main points from this article: 👇
Toxic "forever chemicals" PFAS detected in drinking water sources at 17 of 18 England water companies, with 11,853 samples testing positive
PFAS linked to cancers, thyroid disease, fertility issues, developmental defects; some now banned but 10,000 varieties exist
18 samples found PFOS chemical at 18 times safe limit; PFOA at 1.5 times limit
8 companies had 398 treated water samples at "medium risk" levels, though blending used to reduce levels
Findings described as "extremely alarming" with chemicals persisting for thousands of years
Companies investing to upgrade treatment processes and reduce PFAS
But pollution and contamination could last generations even with action
We don’t think anyone should be drinking medium-risk water … the toxicology data shows the risk of health effects becoming more over time as PFAS builds up in our body
Parker’s Breakdown: Tap Water 💧
Heavy metals, carcinogens, radioactive elements. Would you voluntarily put this into your body?
Hell no! So why are you drinking tap water!
I didn’t know all this until recently but tap water is not just water. It is filled with all these things listed above and if you drink this stuff everyday (like I did as a kid) it can really build up in your system.
All of this happens mainly because of piping. Our pipes are made out of lead and overtime build up not just lead in our water but much more. This contamination also occurs straight from the source, our water facilities.
So does this mean I have to go dig a well just to get clean water?
No, there are multiple ways to clean your water but I personally use a reverse osmosis machine. Mine is AquaTru, but there are a bunch of brands out there. Below is an example of a pipe that has been used for a couple years vs a brand new pipe that your tap water would be traveling through!
